The Accounting Officer (Specialist) reviews, audits, and processes a high volume of regular and complex Travel Expense Claims (TEC) posted in CalATERS. Provides prompt and accurate payment for department employee's travel expenses. Verifies that outstanding travel advances are cleared against TECs posted in CalATERS. This includes TECs for in-state, out-of-state, out-of-country, and long-term assignments. These duties must be completed within the Division’s standard time frame of 3 to 5 business days.
Effectively communicates with department employees and California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) staff regarding travel advances, TECs, and travel administration related issues. Supports travel functions in Department of Water Resources (DWR) Field Offices. Responsible for completing special projects relating to the Travel Unit as assigned by Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor).
