Job Description

Serene Gardens of Imlay City, a beautiful senior living community is hiring a full-time Cook for our community. If you have experience as a Cook and enjoy working within a senior community we would like to speak with you! Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• provide quality, nutritional meals that our resident enjoy
• Ensures the highest quality of customer service for all residents
• Capable of preparing and cooking various items according to menus, special dietary or nutritional requirements, or portion numbers and sizes to be served
• Assists with developing, compiling, and maintaining food records regarding use and expenditures as well as food records in regard to residents' dietary requirements.
• Inventories supplies and equipment
• Assists in determining meals and menus
• Ensures cleanliness and functional operation of equipment, kitchen equipment and work areas by routinely cleaning and inspecting each piece and area
• Adhere to cleaning schedules; after each services, daily, weekly, etc
• Operate in accordance with all applicable health, safety and hygiene codes and standards of the health department
• Maintain proper required documentation and records

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED, required
• ServSafe Certified, required
• At least 1 year of professional cooking experience is required, preferably in a hospitality or healthcare setting
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work well unsupervised
