Duties

Duties include:

conducting laboratory testing of evidence by using established procedures, methods, and databases;
calibrating and testing lab equipment to ensure accuracy;
documenting laboratory results and prepares written reports;
testifying in court by serves as an expert witness, and preparing exhibits for courtroom use;
researching and developing new lab technologies, integrating accredited lab standards and policies;
and performing maintenance of equipment and instrumentation to ensure proper working order.

Requirements

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or Forensic Science ; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the duties of the job. Operating under a 17025 accredited Lab is a plus.

Licenses/Certifications

NC Driver's License
NC Department of Health and Human Services Permit to Perform Chemical Analysis of Blood.
