Grease & Honey Restaurants is locally owned and operated, and currently features 4 independent restaurants in Kenosha, Wisconsin––The Garage, The Buzz, Sazzy B, and The Apis. The Apis Hotel & Restaurant

The Apis Hotel & Restaurant is a multi-level concept featuring a full-service restaurant, multiple event spaces, a stunning rooftop bar, and 6 premium guestrooms. Opened in July of 2020, The Apis has been designed as a premier hospitality destination, located roughly halfway between Chicago, IL and Milwaukee, WI, and just blocks from the shores of Lake Michigan.

The Apis Host

As the first and last point of contact for each guest, Apis Hosts are friendly and warm, yet professional and exacting. We are looking for well-presented, engaging individuals who will be excited to provide knowledgeable, approachable, efficient, energetic, and thoughtful service at all times while upholding company standards & values in a busy, fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet all guests entering The Apis AND thank all guests leaving The Apis
• Ensure reservations are prioritized and seated in a timely manner
• Strive to accommodate walk-in guests whenever possible
• Clearly & politely communicate with guests when delays and/or waits occur
• Maintain an organized floor by quickly and efficiently seat guests according to company standards
• Understand and operate the reservation/seating system
• Maintain professional & warm guest communications––both inside the restaurant or via phone & email
• Recognize key people in the industry, VIP guests, and contacts related to the company and follow company protocol related to their visit
• Support team members in the completion of their duties to ensure satisfaction of all guests before, during, and after service
• Engage management for any and all guest issues or complaints
• Maintain cleanliness and organization at the host stand, bar area, lobby, and entrance
• Additional service and/or operational tasks as determined by management
• Be knowledgeable of the restaurant and its history
• Communicate respectfully with coworkers at all levels
• Adhere to grooming and dress code standards

• Ability to work in an organized and professional manner
• Receptive to constructive criticism & performance feedback
• Able to work in a standing/walking position for long periods of time
• Ability to demonstrate quick thinking and adaptability in a constantly changing environment

Physical Demands

• The physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, frequently lifting up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for 4 to 8 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours. These physical requirements may be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodations
