The City of Branson is looking for a Legal Assistant. In this role, you'lltakeon a variety of tasks that are crucial to our legal processes. From drafting legal documents and conducting research to assisting in trial preparation and managing case files, you will get to take part in bringing justice to the City. Career Growth: Opportunities for training and advancement. MINIMUM REQUIRED AND PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND TRAINING A High school diploma or GED equivalent is required. A Bachelor's Degree in law, criminal justice, legal studies, business or other related degree is required. o Directly related full-time work experience, as determined by the Department Director, of six (6) or more years of full-time employment may be consider in lieu of the degree requirement. Two (2) years of experience as a legal assistant, paralegal, or legal secretary is required. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING Completion of a certified legal assistant or paralegal program is preferred. MISCELLANEOUS REQUIREMENTS Must be proficient in Microsoft products to include Word, Excel, and Outlook Must possess a valid driver's license and must be insurable under the City of Branson's motor vehicle coverage when operating a vehicle as a part of the position. Must possess no felony convictions at any time while employed by the City of Branson. Tattoos, Scarification, Body Art, and Body Modifications must meet City of Branson Employee Appearance at Work policy. Must act safely and follow safety standards while at work. Must be able to pass a background investigation and drug and alcohol screenings. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:The starting hourly wage is $22.57 perhour and will increase to$23.48per hour after 6 months of successful probation.
