Microfluidics Engineer

We are seeking a passionate and goal-oriented Microfluidics Engineer to lead the design, simulation, fabrication, and experimental validation of PDMS-based microfluidic devices tailored for biological applications. This role demands a hands-on engineer with a strong foundation in surface chemistry, CAD design, and a collaborative mindset to drive projects from concept to completion, and collaborate with internal team and external collaborators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and simulate microfluidic structures using CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and CFD software (e.g., COMSOL Multiphysics) to model fluid dynamics and optimize device performance. Fabricate PDMS-based microfluidic devices employing soft lithography techniques, ensuring reproducibility and scalability.
  • Apply surface chemistry and treatment protocols to enhance device performance, particularly for cell culture and biological assays.
  • Conduct experiments involving cell-based assays within microfluidic platforms, analyzing data to inform iterative design improvements.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation of designs, protocols, and experimental results to ensure traceability and facilitate knowledge transfer.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with biologists, chemists, and engineers to integrate microfluidic systems into broader research initiatives.
  • Manage project timelines e̸ectively, meeting milestones and adapting to evolving project needs. Coordinate with third-party vendors and contractors to expand manufacturing capabilities, ensuring quality control and scalability.
  • Evaluate the performance of manufactured microfluidic chips, providing detailed reports to inform decision making and continuous improvement.

We're Looking For

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in Bioengineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years hands-on experience in microfluidic device design, simulation, and fabrication for biological applications.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and CFD tools for microfluidic design and analysis.
  • Expertise in surface modification techniques to tailor microchannel properties for biological applications.
  • Familiarity with surface characterization techniques and analytical methods relevant to microfluidics.
  • Demonstrated experience with PDMS fabrication processes and soft lithography.
  • Strong experimental skills, including the ability to design and execute biological assays within microfluidic devices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of working effectively in interdisciplinary teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage documentation and project tracking. Enthusiastic about learning new concepts and technologies, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Experience in coordinating with external partners for manufacturing and quality assurance processes.

At CellsBin, you’ll:

  • Join a fast-growing startup at the forefront of cancer research and cell therapy
  • Collaborate with leading scientists, engineers, and innovators
  • Contribute to breakthrough technologies in cancer diagnostics and precision medicine
  • Help drive meaningful impact for patients worldwide.

CellsBin is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
