Description Are you an experienced payroll professional looking to work in a mission-driven environment? Our client, a reputable nonprofit organization, is seeking a Payroll Specialist to oversee payroll operations and ensure employees are compensated accurately and on time while adhering to compliance standards. Key Responsibilities: + Process bi-weekly or monthly payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and timely submission. + Maintain payroll systems and records, including employee profiles, tax settings, benefits, and deductions. + Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, as well as nonprofit-specific requirements. + Handle employee inquiries related to payroll, taxes, and deductions with excellent customer service. + Conduct payroll reconciliations and audits to ensure accuracy across systems and detect discrepancies proactively. + Collaborate with HR to coordinate benefit deductions, PTO tracking, and adjustments to employee statuses. + Prepare payroll reports and analytics to provide insights for budgeting and financial decision-making. Requirements + Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred. + 3+ years of experience in payroll processing, ideally within a nonprofit or similarly complex organization. + Proficiency in payroll systems like ADP, Paychex, or similar platforms. + Strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations, including FLSA, wage garnishments, and tax reporting. + Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. + Advanced Excel skills (e.g., v-lookups, pivot tables) and aptitude for data analysis. + Excellent communication and problem-solving skills when working with employees across teams.
