Work Schedule: Some evenings, weekends and overnights required

The security Officer primary duty is to protect the safety of personnel, property, and Benedictine College assets. This involves protecting individuals from harm and safeguarding valuable equipment and structures from theft or damage. We are to be visual, alert, responsive and informative while in uniform and always maintain a professional demeanor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Enforce security protocols, including verifying IDs, controlling building access, and managing logs. 
2. Perform routine inspections of doors, windows, and equipment to prevent unauthorized access or damage.
3. Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate logs of daily activities and observations.
4. Must obtain and maintain a valid driver license while employed.
5. Be able to stand and walk and patrol areas around campus, (in Kansas Elements) You must be able to climb stairs and lift 35lbs.
6. Must be 21 yrs of age, preferably at least 1yr of work experience. Adhere to the policies of Benedictine College Grooming standards always while on Duty.

Experience

1. 1-2yrs of experience in the field of Lost and Prevention or Security

2. The ability to work independently and/or part of a team

3. Provide a professional appearance and creative service to improve the Security and Hospitality of our campus

4. Excellent oral communication skills

5. Problem solving 

6. Ability to lift 35 lbs

7. The knowledge to operate a computer for logs and correspondence
