Under the general direction of the Accounting Administrator II - Supervisor (AAII) over the Cash Management and Fiscal Systems Services, the Senior Accounting Officer - Specialist performs the more difficult accounting duties which include gathering and analyzing data and information, and solving the most complex accounting and fiscal tasks including tasks which have a multifunctional impact that require an understanding of department operations including the accounting, program, fiscal, and budget processes. Serves as a subject matter expert and provides expertise and direct support to the Accounting and Fiscal Services Section and Financial Services Branch (FSB) Chief. Responsible for all Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) disaster projects, and Indirect Cost Rate Proposal (ICRP) for federal reimbursement in support of the departments programs. Performs special projects as assigned by the Accounting Administrator II - Supervisor and FSB Chief, and act as Lead on special assignments.

This position provides hybrid telework opportunities, with employees required to work in-person at least two days per week. Beginning July 1, 2025, all employees will be required to work in-person at least four days per week in alignment with Executive Order N-22-25 .
